We have driven by a restaurant named Heaven on Earth several times. It's a few miles south of Roseburg. Their sign advertised a famous giant cinnamon roll. We just had to try it. Quite frankly it was not that good and the place was old and run down. Oh well. As we were leaving we saw a cat up on the roof.

My friend Tom. He drove a rental truck twice from Fair Oaks to Roseburg. He also helped load and unload and assemble furniture. We love him even though he's an Oakland Raiders fan.

Tolly's in Oakland Oregon. It's a historic little town-one street, with a restaurant or two and couple of antique stores. Tolly's has an old fashioned soda fountain and bar and grill. The inside furniture and décor is impressive.

These are the foggy hills behind our home. We saw the fog rolling in and rushed out to get photos of it.
We gas up at this station regularly. They pump your gas for you and there is no state sales tax.

We hiked a mile back to Susan Creek Falls last summer before we moved to Oregon. Pat's brother was showing us the natural sites here in the land of the Umpqua.

Sheep in the meadow are commonly seen while driving on I-5 through Douglas county, Oregon.

Colliding Rivers

Near Glide Oregon, the North Umpqua and Little Rivers meet head on. According to the Guinness book of World Records these are the only 2 rivers in the world that meet like this. It doesn't look like much normally but when there is heavy water flow it apparently can be quite a sight when the 2 rivers "collide". We've been there twice but the flow has been low.

We have moved from the suburbs of a big city in California to a small town in Southwestern Oregon. Join us as we explore small town living and exploring Oregon and beyond.
